Fourth Generation Mini Cooper Petrol Edition Revealed: Expected Price ₹41.95 Lakh

BMW’s brand MINI has announced the petrol edition of the fourth generation Cooper 3-door hatchback car. This car is the last Inter Combustion Engine (ICE) version of MINI. After this, the company will make only electric cars. The look of this car is inspired by the company’s original version launched in 1959. The company will launch this car in two drive variants Mini Cooper-S and Mini Cooper-C.

The new car model will be launched in 3-door, 5-door, soft top convertible and John Cooper Works versions. MINI sells the Gen-3 Cooper hatchback in India in petrol and electric powertrain options. BMW launched this car brand 24 years ago i.e. in 2000.

The Mini Cooper Gen-4 hatchback looks exactly like the Cooper EV. But its platform is quite different from the EV Cooper. The petrol variant of the Mini is a heavily updated version of the old model. It has the same twin turbo-petrol engine as the Gen-3. But in terms of power, it will get more power output than Gen-3. The 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine in the Cooper C generates a maximum power of 156hp. The car takes 7.7 seconds to accelerate from 0-100kph.

Whereas, the Cooper-S has a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine that generates 204hp of power. It takes 6.6 seconds to reach 100kmph to 0kmph. The company has given automatic gearbox in both variants of the car.

The new 3-door petrol has a minimalistic dashboard. At its center is an OLED infotainment display. The company claims that this is the first OLED touch screen in a production car. The top of the OLED display shows road speed and fuel economy. When the menubar is displayed at the bottom of the screen. The company has provided its own dedicated buttons for the front and rear defogger of the car.

The gear selector has been moved from the center console to a panel below the screen. Apart from this, the hand-brake, turn-key starter, driving mode selector and audio control dial have also been shifted to the panel below the screen.
